The thirteenth edition of the MEET ICT Conference and the Bahrain International Technology Exhibition, BITEX, launched today at the Gulf Convention Centre, attracting an extensive gathering of representatives from leading global technology companies, alongside high-level delegations from the Gulf region, the broader Middle East and key international markets across the ICT sector.
The event is taking place from 25 to 27 November under the theme “Innovate, Transform, Elevate: AI for the New Economy.” It is organized by the Bahrain Technology Companies Society in collaboration with WorkSmart for Events Management, with strategic partnership from Tamkeen, gold sponsorship from Gulf Business Machines, silver sponsorship from Alba, Computer World and Almoayyed Computers Middle East, and bronze sponsorship from Manage Engine. Microsoft is serving as the event’s technology partner, while CTM360 is participating as the cybersecurity partner.
A wide range of prominent organizations are participating in the conference and exhibition, including Shura Council, General Assembly, Caza Souq, Zoho, Silah Gulf, Hilal Group, Etisalcom and ThinkSmart for Development and Training. The exhibition also brings together several international companies showcasing their latest artificial intelligence solutions and unveiling new innovations in digital transformation, cloud computing and IoT. This diversity has created a leading platform for knowledge exchange and for exploring opportunities for cross-border partnerships.
The opening day saw strong engagement from participants and exhibitors who joined business sessions and bilateral meetings tailored to enhance collaboration between Bahraini companies and their regional and international counterparts. Discussions centered on expanding growth prospects for startups, enhancing the technology investment ecosystem and establishing new channels for cooperation across regional and global technology markets.
Participating companies delivered presentations showcasing their products and services, giving visitors the opportunity to experience a broad range of innovations from multiple markets. This enriched the overall atmosphere of the exhibition and broadened the scope of partnership and investment opportunities available to attendees.
This year’s edition also stood out for the participation of an Arab business delegation comprising entrepreneurs, investors and representatives from leading ICT companies across the Gulf Cooperation Council states, Jordan, Morocco, Egypt and Lebanon. Their presence aimed to strengthen regional cooperation and to advance joint initiatives that support the growth of the sector through networking sessions, knowledge exchange and constructive dialogue.
The conference programme featured panel discussions and workshops led by a distinguished group of speakers and experts from major international organizations, including The World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), as well as business leaders and specialists from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman and other countries. These sessions offered valuable perspectives on the future of artificial intelligence within the new economy and examined its influence on digital transformation, sustainability, cybersecurity and the development of skills and talent.
